The big butterfly count is happening from the 15th of July to the 7th of August!
The big butterfly count is a nationwide survey aimed at helping us assess the health of our environment. It was launched in 2010 and has rapidly become the world's biggest survey of butterflies. Over 52,000 people took part in 2015, counting over 580,000 individual butterflies and day-flying moths across the UK.
Then find a place to spot, using the in app images and descriptions to identify and record your sightings for 15 minutes.
If you're taking part in the survey while at Timber Hill, you probably wont even need to leave your veranda to see butterflies. Some spots we would recommend would be around our conservation pools at the west end of the site. Or perhaps take a walk up to our fishing lake.
