Timber Hill has its own delightful small lake located on the opposite side of the valley and is either 10 minutes on foot, or can be reached by car. It was stocked with a variety of coarse fish many years ago and now contains fish of the highest quality. Roach, rudd, perch, tench and bream as well as common, mirror and grass carp all thrive in the lake and some of our visitors have recorded successful catches upwards of 30lbs. Lake rules below.
In addition to providing superb fishing, the lake is a peaceful focal point which forms part of a circular walk around the perimeter of the Timber Hill estate. To the west are wonderful views over the beach and St Bride’s Bay towards Skomer Island and from here some spectacular sunsets can be enjoyed.
Closer to the lodges is an area with shallow ponds, created to attract a diversity of wildlife. As holders of the David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award for many years, it is our aim to provide a habitat which can be enjoyed by both wildlife and visitors.
We are planning a small hardstanding car park and path links, covered picnic benches, and all-weather access swims so the lakeside can be enjoyed even on a wetter day.
These improvements are scheduled to be completed for spring 2026.
Fishing and lakeside access are currently prioritised for staying guests. Public day passes will be introduced once the improvements are complete. For availability, prices and dates please message WhatsApp 07498218916 or email info@timberhill.co.uk. Full details will be published here when the project is complete.
